Public Service Media (PSM) has been appointed as the official broadcasting partner for the Commonwealth Beach Handball Tournament, scheduled to take place on 18 September in Kulhudhuffushi City.
Teams from India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the Maldives will compete in the tournament, which will be broadcast live on PSM's Yes TV. This marks the first international beach handball tournament to be held in the Maldives.
Handball Maldives is seeking support from the Olympic Committee and the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation to ensure that the tournament is conducted smoothly. Agreements with event sponsors and partners were signed on Monday.
The main sponsors for the tournament are Milo, the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, and Kulhudhuffushi City Council. Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is the co-sponsor, while PSM serves as the official broadcasting partner. Gaafu Online is the media partner, and Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) is the operational and logistics partner. The venue maintenance partner is Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO), while Official Events Pvt Ltd is the event partner. Gobig Maldives Pvt Ltd is the floral partner, while MSZ is the hosting partner.
