The Official ceremony to inaugurate Raa atoll Fainu harbor works was held on 28th March 2015 at Raa Fainu Island. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Housing and infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Member of Parliament Inguraidhoo Constituency Mr. Ibrahim Falah, Member of Parliament Maduvvari Constituency Mr.Mohamed Ameeth, Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Mr. Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Hilmy, Atoll Council and Island council members, Senior officials from the Ministry and people of Fainu island.
Officially the harbor works was inaugurated by Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr.Mohamed Muizzu. Minister also visited Baa atoll Kendhoo, Dharavandhoo, Raa atoll Kinolhas, Inguraidhoo, Rasmaadhoo, Innamaadhoo and Ungoofaaru to meet with the island council members and discussed on the harbor issues and the island land use plan and the plans for the road development projects in the islands.
Under this project a new harbor of size 300 feet will be constructed as mentioned in the contract agreement. The project which is funded by the Government of Maldives, was awarded to the contractor, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) ، the project will complete within 245 days from the date of commencement.
