Velana International Airport (VIA) announced changes to passenger car queue areas and domestic terminal waiting zones, effective July 20, 2025.
Under the new arrangement, cars transporting passengers to the domestic terminal will no longer be allowed to wait near the terminal itself. Instead, they must wait in the designated car queue area for the international terminal.
The car queue currently located on the southern side of Hulhulé will be relocated to the front of the former cargo terminal near the domestic terminal. VIA’s Estate Security Services (ESS) will oversee queue management in this area.
Additionally, MTCC buses travelling to the airport will now stop exclusively at the bus stop behind the Corporate Office.
These changes aim to improve airport service efficiency ahead of the new terminal’s operational launch following the completion of construction.
