Maldives is ready for foreign investors، and the recently enacted SEZ Act will create unprecedented opportunities for foreign investment in the Maldives says Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon.
Minister Dunya made these remarks while speaking at a function hosted for the Foreign Minister by the Maldives High Commission in Colombo. The function was attended by a large number of diplomats accredited to the Maldives resident in Colombo.
At the reception held on Wednesday night، Foreign Minister Dunya thanked the Ambassadors for their continued support and friendship and briefed them on key foreign policy priorities and developments in the country.
The reception was also attended by the members of the Maldives delegation for the Second Session of the Maldives-Sri Lanka Joint Commission held this morning in Colombo.
Foreign Minister is currently in Sri Lanka to attend the Maldives – Sri Lanka Joint Commission created to strengthen the Economical ties between the two countries.
The Joint Commission session held on Wednesday was Co-Chaired by Minister Dunya and Minister of External Affairs of Sri Lanka Professor G.L. Peiris.
In addition with Foreign Minister، Maldivian delegation includes Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Shiham، Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee and other senior officials from the ministries. The delegation will return back to Maldives on Thursday night.
