Airlines operating to the Maldives have expressed strong optimism about the world-class services set to be offered at the new passenger terminal of Velana International Airport (VIA), scheduled to open on July 26.
As part of the final preparations, airlines and travel agents recently participated in comprehensive trial runs covering passenger check-in, routing, baggage handling, and boarding processes, as well as arrival routes to baggage claim.
Munaz Ali, Chairman of the Airline Operators Committee and Etihad Airways Airport Manager, stated that airlines are excited about the new terminal, which will enable world-class service standards in the Maldives.
Ahmed Nahshan Nizar, Vice Chairman of the Committee and Qatar Airways Airport Service Manager, highlighted that the new terminal will offer passengers a truly Maldivian experience and a markedly improved journey.
Malaysian Airlines Station Manager Ahmed Hanam Faiz praised MACL for providing full access to the terminal, describing it as complete, beautiful, modern, and passenger-friendly.
The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is finalizing arrangements to ensure a seamless opening of the new terminal, which promises to enhance passenger experience with many advanced services.
