President meets Prime Minister of Samoa, Fiame

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with the Prime Minister of Samoa, Afioga Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa yesterday.
Maldives established Diplomatic ties with Samoa in August 2, 1993.
This meeting took place on the sidelines of the fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) currently ongoing in Antigua and Barbuda.
The President's Office revealed in a press release yesterday that President Muizzu had reiterated this government's dedication to climate mitigation during the meeting, further highlighting measures currently implemented in Maldives to address such crises. He had also conveyed his appreciation to Samoa for its leadership in performing the role of Chair of Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS).
The President's Office reports that the Samoa's Prime Minister, Fiame had shared challenges faced by Samoa and emphasized the importance of the SIDS working in unity to tackle these difficulties.
The two leaders had also deliberated challenges caused by financing difficulties as Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and explored alternative approaches to address such issues.
