Home Minister Umar Naseer has stated that he hopes and prays that former Defence Minister Colonel (retired) Mohamed Nazim will get justice in court.
Speaking at DhiTV ‘Khabarutherein’ program, Minister Umar Naseer said that if the former Defence Minister does not get justice in the Criminal Court, and does not get justice in the High Court after appealing the case, then he hopes that he will get justice at the Supreme Court.
Umar Naseer exhorted Nazim and his family and his supports to remain patient during the trial.
“I would like to tell Nazim and his family and supporters that there are three phases of the judiciary. The full trial cannot end in the Criminal Court. The trial will end with appealing at High Court and Supreme Court. I believe that Nazim will get justice after going through all the three phases,” he said.
Umar Naseer said that the Police will “act” upon intelligence reports and in Nazim’s case they received information to act upon.
“They did not know it was Nazim. And I do not make orders upon the Police,” he said.
The Home Minister said that if the Police does any mistakes during the three phases of the trial then he will investigate them.
