Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizz has said that no tsunami victims are living in temporary shelters anymore.
Speaking at the national day ceremony held at Dharubaaruge, Dr. Muizz said that the current government was incepted 9 years after the Tsunami crisis and because of the former government’s not completing the service of providing permanent shelter for all the victims many have been living in temporary housing.
He said that the current government could not bear to see the people living in such difficulties and with much effort all the people have been provided with permanent housing.
Dr. Muizz noted that the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom gave a special attention to make sure that this matter is resolved.
Dr. Muizz thanked MNDF for their voluntary services and also thanked STO for providing immediate supplies of the construction materials to make this project successful.
