We must prepare ourselves for any disaster that might strike us – Minister Dunya

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon has urged that we must heed the warnings and be resilient to face any disaster that might strike us.
In a statement released on the occasion of National Unity Day and the passing of 10 years since the 2004 Tsunami، Minister Dunya has said we should meet the challenges we face as the warnings of the scientists regarding the natural disasters due to the climatic changes are proving to be true.
“We must prepare ourselves for any disaster that might strike us. We must take action at home to build our resilience and become stronger.” Minister Dunya said on her statement.
She has highlighted in her statement that، “Economic gains that this country had made over many a year vanished in a few minutes. Some islands became entirely uninhabitable، severing those ties with their history and their way of life.”
Minister Dunya further said on her statement that we should all join hands and remember the lives we lost on that day and salute the heroes who tirelessly helped the victims of the day.
