Indian police arrest Maldivian man after 1.9kg drug bust

A 28-year-old Maldivian man has been arrested in Bangalore, India, after the country’s Narcotics Control Bureau units seized 1.9kg of drugs from a courier company.
Citing police, Indian news outlets reported that the hash oil was concealed in 10 boxes of 500-gram tea packets, and that the drugs were seized from a renowned courier company in Bangalore, by the NCB units of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana.
Police estimate the drugs to have a street value of Rs 1 million.
The Maldivian man reportedly went to India in 2015.
Meanwhile, Indian authorities are investigating to uncover if additional individuals were involved in the drug trafficking.
