Island Aviation Services (IAS) reported that the seaplane fleet of National airline are set to arrive in the country on the 10th of April.
IAS Head of Administration Ali Nashath stated that work was underway to introduce the service and the fleet is currently getting painted. He added that by the latest, the fleet will arrive in the country by the 10th of next month. He also stated that work on the floating jetty was almost complete.
The floating jetty is being built east of ATC tower, with an initial capacity of 8 seaplanes. Nashath added that the jetty was built with the option to expand depending on the demand. He also stated that the company was in discussions to bring in more seaplanes.
IAS owned Maldivian is currently operating flights to all domestic airports in Maldives as well as some international airports. IAS is currently working to expand its operations.
