Maziya wins their first ever Charity Shield after beating New Radiant 2-0 in the kick off match for the Maldives football season.
The Charity Shield match is played between the Dhivehi League Champions and the FA Cup Champions.
Maziya defeated New Radiant, the team that has held the Charity Shield for the past two years, with two goals by Pablo Rodriguez and Ahmed Nashid. Pablo Rodriguez was selected the man of the match.
Maziya said that the team will donate the prize money of MVR 50,000 to the Maldives Autism Association.
After this kick off match, the first tournament in thel begin on April 20.
