Economic Minister Muhammed Saeed have said that Maldives prioritizes trade with China because China is the largest economy in the world.
Speaking to the press at Bandos Island Resort the minister said that since Maldives is a country trying to develop the economy it is important to partner with the largest economy of the world.
He said that when the government started working on establishing a free trade agreement with China, other countries have recognized this.
He further said that when they started the proceedings to establish the agreement even now Chinese investors are expressing interest in Maldives. The minister said that this agreement has made Maldives a trustable trade partner among other countries.
