PCB appoints board members to three state-owned companies

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) has made appointments to the boards of three state-owned companies. The appointments were made to the boards of the Maldives Fund Management Corporation, Business Centre Corporation (BCC), and Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO).
PCB appointed Hussain Abdul Wahid to the Board of Directors of Maldives Fund Management Corporation. He brings more than 15 years of experience in accounting, auditing and public financial management. He currently serves as an accountant at the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises’ Treasury and Public Accounts Department, overseeing government financial reporting, account reconciliation and audit coordination. He has previously served as Director General of State Internal Audit and has held senior positions at the Maldives State Shipping Company, Island Line and the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority.
Abdul Wahid is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of the West of England.
Ghaziya Fathuhy, who currently serves as the Deputy Director General of Public Debt Management and head of Debt Management Department at the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises, was appointed to the board of directors of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO). She has previously worked as a debt strategy and risk management consultant, and held senior positions at the Auditor General’s Office. She also has extensive experience in accounting, finance, and public administration. She continues to serve as a non-executive board member of Addu International Airport.
Ghaziya holds a Master of Economics from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China, and a first-class Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting. She is also an ACCA affiliate.
Meanwhile, Eenas Naseer was appointed to the Board of Directors of BCC. She has extensive experience working in the state finance sector, and specialises in financial management, budgeting and financial reporting. She currently serves as the Finance Director at the Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources. She has previously served as the Assistant Director of Finance and Senior Accounts Officer at the ministry.
Eenas holds an MBA in Finance from University of Bedfordshire. She has also completed ACCA Skilled Level and Association of Accounting Technicians qualification. Her technical expertise includes SAP government accounting, IPSAS reporting, project finance, budget implementation and internal controls.
