Registrations open for Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run

Dhiraagu has announced that registration for the first-ever Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race to be held in the atolls, will open today.
Speaking at a press conference at Dhiraagu head office, Director of Brand Marketing and Communications Mohammed Mirshan Hassan said that registration for the race would begin today. He said that the event features a certified route that meets international standards, similar to the Dhiraagu Road Race.
Scheduled for May 2, the "Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run" and will accommodate 1,500 participants to ensure an optimal experience for runners.
"The Dhiraagu Fuvahmulah Run is an extension of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race. We are prioritizing quality over quantity by limiting the number of participants to 1,500," Mirshan said.
Dhiraagu Assistant Manager of Brand, Naaiya Shareef, said that the Fuvahmulah Run will include the same categories as the Dhiraagu Road Race, which are; Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Schools categories of Under 13 and Over 13.
"This race will be no different from the Dhiraagu Road Race. Winners will be selected across multiple categories, with a total prize pool of MVR 232,000," Naaiya said.
The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is the only international race in Maldives. It is listed under the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), included in the World Running Calendar, and features a World Athletics Certified Route. The Fuvahmulah Run, now part of the Dhiraagu Road Race series, has also been listed on the AIMS calendar.
In addition to the Fuvahmulah Run, Dhiraagu will also host the annual Hulhumale' edition of the race, scheduled for October 24.
