Passport services available on Thursday despite public holiday

Passport services will be available on Thursday despite being a public holiday, Maldives Immigration has stated.
In accordance with Article 84 of the Constitution of the Maldives, which pertains to the day when the President delivers the annual Presidential Address to the Parliament, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced 6 February as a public holiday.
Despite the holiday, Immigration announced that passport applications can be submitted 24/7 through the IMUGA portal. In emergency situations and those over the age of 65, passport applications can be submitted from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday.
Immigration said passport handover tokens will be issued from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m on Thursday. The services can be availed from the first floor of Velana Building in Male’, Umar Zahir Building in Hulhumale’ Phase I, and first floor of Vinares Tower 2 in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
