Foundation works of China-Maldives Friendship Bridge have started.
The construction company has started the work of foundation by putting in pipes to the seabed. Housing Ministry said that by September columns will be visible above the sea. At the moment the work of the temporary bridge is going underway at a fast pace. The temporary bridge will be used in the construction of the original bridge.
Housing Minister Muiz said that their aim is to finish the bridge by July of 2018. The total length of bridge will be 1.39 kilometers. The total cost of the bridge is 210 million dollars and of which 126 was received as aid from China.
