Our social sector requires wholesale reforms to ensure that we uphold the rights of children by giving them a safe and healthy environment to grow up in. The institutions with the mandate to safeguard our children need to be better funded to ensure that they can fulfil their mandates. It is time for the state to set its priorities right and uphold the rights of our children enshrined in law.
