The Managing Director of STO, Ahmed Shaheer have said that STO will take part in all endeavors carried out by both public and private organizations to protect the environment.
Shaheer made this statement during a ceremony held this morning to donate dustbins to Environment Ministry. Shaheer said that the government needs assistance from the public and private companies, in managing waste.
“ That’s why we take extra measures in all our shops to manage waste. I request other companies to take part in this like STO” said Shaheer.
Shaheer said that STO is conducting various programs that are beneficial for the public as part of their corporate social responsibility. “ In addition to financial assistance, we are actively conducting programs to protect the environment. We conduct beach cleaning programs and reef cleaning programs on a wide scale” said Shaheer.
Shaheer noted that Maldives is really vulnerable to environmental disasters and Maldives should pay special attention to programs related to environment. He also said that everyone’s input is needed in such programs.
