Maldives Meteorological Service has warned to be aware of the weather when traveling by sea as heavy rain showers and rough seas have been predicted in various regions of Maldives.
MET office has predicted that scattered showers and a few heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected over the country.
Surface winds will vary between west / north-westerly 7 – 15 miles per hour in southern atolls، and 13 – 23 miles per hour elsewhere. Winds may gust 45 miles per hour during showers.
“Warn all those traveling by sea to be very careful about the weather because high winds and rough seas have been predicted”، said MET office.
Seas are expected to be slight in southern atolls and rough in central and northern atolls.
