His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended warm greetings to the President of the United States of America, His Excellency Donald J. Trump, the government, and the people of the United States on the occasion of the 250th Anniversary of Independence of the United States of America.
In his letter, the President highlighted that this year holds special significance for both countries, as it also marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the United States. He noted that, over the past six decades, the partnership between the two nations has grown steadily, founded on mutual respect, enduring friendship and a shared commitment to advancing peace and prosperity.
The President affirmed that the Maldives deeply values its partnership with the United States and remains committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including security and defence, trade and economic development, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
Concluding his letter, the President expressed his hope of continuing to work closely with President Trump to further deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their peoples in the years ahead.
