Chairperson of the MDP, Ali Waheed has said that this is the time to forgive and ask forgiveness and renew the national resolve.
Ali Waheed made this remark speaking at the joint rally of Jumhooree Party and MDP held at Alimas Carnival last night. He said that MDP asks the forgiveness of Jumhooree Party if they have wronged the party in anyway.
Ali Waheed said that the current government is a failure and they have no support from the people. He called the government for a public referendum to see how much votes the government gets.
Ali Waheed said that if the Jumhhooree Party and MDP are together then they will get the clear majority in all the islands. He said that they will remain as brothers to serve the people.
He said that the 50th year of independence of Maldives is celebrated this year and it is saddening that Maldivians are living under a dictatorial government. However, he said that the people will not remain in shackles. Therefore, MDP and Jumhooree Party will reach their goals to defend the constitution.
