Maldives Police Service (MPS) in Gaaf Dhaal atoll Thinadhoo has begun an operation to check all the sea transport vessels in the island، in light of many planned journeys in the upcoming Eid holidays.
Police began the operation to ensure safety and security of the vessels due to the bad weather in the Maldives، which had cause many marine accidents this week.
The authority informed that the operation will continue until the end of Eid holidays. They said that two vessels have been already stopped due to boarding passengers over the permitted limit.
As Maldives is experiencing severe weather currently، MPS have advised the public to be cautious before traveling.
