President of MDP and the former president of Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed has been moved from Hinmafushi “Asseyri” Prison to Maafushi Prison. Home Minister Umar Naseer has confirmed this to Sun Media. Maldives Correctional Services has previously stated that a special place is being built at the Maafushi Prison to hold the former president. President Nasheed was sentenced to 13 years in prison for ordering the unlawful arrest of the Chief Judge of the Criminal Court, Abdulla Mohamed as the Commander in Chief and President of the country.
