India dispatches measles vaccines and medical supplies to the Maldives

India has dispatched a consignment of 20,000 doses of measles vaccines and around three tonnes of medical supplies to support the Maldives’ efforts to strengthen immunisation coverage and respond to rising measles cases.
The assistance is expected to support the Maldives’ public health response and help address the increasing number of measles cases in the country.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs stated that the support reflects the close ties between the two countries, noting that the Maldives holds a special place in India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and Vision MAHASAGAR.
India, as a trusted first responder, remains committed to working closely with the Maldives in advancing shared priorities and for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries, the High Commission said.
