Statistics show that the majority of complaints submitted to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) so far this year relate to procurement.
According to statistics disclosed by ACC on Sunday, the Commission has registered a total of 142 cases this year: 77 cases in the first quarter of this year, accounting for the first six months of the year, and 65 cases so far in the second quarter, which began in July.
73 cases out of this relate to procurement, with 43 cases registered in the first quarter of the year, while 20 cases were registered in the second quarter.
The second-highest type of case registered by ACC pertains to misuse of state funds and property. In this regard, a total of 30 cases pertaining to misuse of state funds and property have been registered: 16 in the first quarter and 14 so far in the second quarter.
The majority of cases registered with ACC in both quarters were reported from atolls, with 53.8 percent of the cases registered with the Commission in the first quarter from atolls and 63.1 percent of the cases registered with the Commission so far in the second quarter from atolls.
46.2 percent of the cases registered by ACC in the first quarter were from Male’ City, while 36.9 percent of the cases registered by the Commission so far in the second quarter were from Male’ City.
