Ahmed Nareesh, who resigned as Deputy Mayor of Male’ City, has been appointed as an advisor to Youth Minister Ibrahim Waheed (Aswad) at ministerial level. Nareesh was given a ministerial level post on Thursday, the President's Office confirmed.
Those appointed at ministerial levels will receive a salary equivalent to those of a Cabinet minister, allowances and government car. A minister’s salary is MVR 66,000 per month with allowances.
Nareesh resigned from the post of Deputy Mayor of Male’ City stating that he had the opportunity to serve the nation in a different capacity. Mohamed Areesh has now been appointed as his successor.
