Two Indian nationals were arrested in Hulhumale’ last night while in possession of 40 water bottles suspected to be filled with alcohol.
Maldives Police Service, via a post on X, said officers stopped and searched a van with the number plates ‘AB1B C4278’ during which they found 40 500ml water bottles suspected to be filled with alcohol.

The Police detailed that they arrested two Indian nationals at the scene following the discovery; Rajagopal Selvaganapathy, 47, and Thalapathi Pugazhendhi, 27.
The van has been towed for further investigation.
