Youth Hack 2025 awards top team MVR 100,000

Team SEA STAG has won Youth Hack 2025, a national hackathon organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts to promote coding and technology skills among young people.
The winning team received a cash prize of MVR 100,000, presented by Ooredoo Maldives Chief Executive Officer Khalid Al Hamadi at the award ceremony. Team Wavemind secured the runner-up position and was awarded MVR 75,000, while SickSaySeven placed second runner-up, receiving MVR 50,000.
Youth Hack 2025 brought together 85 young participants for an intensive 48-hour hackathon held from 11 to 13 December 2025. Competing teams developed and pitched innovative solutions across four thematic areas: sports, fitness and active lifestyle; mental wellness and resilience; youth ventures and the gig economy; and arts, culture and digital creativity.
Ooredoo Maldives served as the main partner of the event, with Women in Tech participating as a co-partner.
The Maldives Youth Hackathon is the first national-level hackathon of its kind to be held in the country. The initiative was launched during the first 14 weeks of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s Administration, with the objective of equipping young people with digital skills and creating pathways for them to participate in the global digital economy.
