The Transport Authority of Maldives has stated that they will be penalizing the parties travelling without heeding the advises by the security authorities.
The announcement of the authority came while several marine incidents have occurred due to the bad weather in the Maldives.
Transport authority informed that the parties who neglected the urges of the security authorities، facing incidents recently، will be penalized as well.
“Licenses of vessel captains who violated the rules will be seized، and transport operators will face penalization as well،” Transport authority said.
Maldives Police Service (MPS)، Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and other relevant authorities have urged the public to be cautious on the sea travelling، with the bad weather in the Maldives currently.
