The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) successfully showcased the Maldives as a premier travel destination at the Travel and Adventure Show 2025 in New York.
MMPRC, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the United Nations and two industry partners, hosted the enchanting ‘Travel & Adventure Show 2025’ in New York from 25 to 26 January. The two partners joining the show, were Centara Grand Island Resort and Spa Maldives and Diamonds Thudufushi Beach and Water Villas.
The show held in New York aims to increase destination awareness and provide the latest information to the US B2B travel trade while promoting the Maldives as a top-of-mind destination for travellers. This major North American travel event targeted travel enthusiasts, industry professionals, and tourism organizations, and prominently featured the Maldives as a premier travel destination, offering an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with potential travellers from the region.
This event also offered a platform for industry partners to share updates on the properties, and facilitate meetings between international tourism suppliers and buyers. Additionally, destination information and promotional materials were distributed to both travel trade professionals and consumers.
MMPRC has completed the ‘Discover Maldives’ webinar series targeted to the US Market recently. Upcoming events for year 2025 include several public relations activities, activities with High Commission, partnerships with travel agents, familiarisation trips, webinar sessions, virtual campaigns and the Maldives Roadshow in USA and Canada.
The North American market, particularly the United States, represents a significant and growing source of tourists for the Maldives. Last year, the Maldives welcomed over 62,000 tourists from the USA market. This event provided an excellent opportunity to tap into this growing market, where consumer interest in luxury and sustainable travel is increasing. The MMPRC aims to solidify the Maldives’ position as a top destination for US travelers.
