Police have said that they are investigating reports of vape liquids containing cannabis being sold locally.
Mihaaru reported earlier this week that vapes containing cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are being brought in to the country and sold in retail, mainly through online mediums such as Telegram channels.
They further reported that these vapes range in price between MVR 500 and MVR 5000.
Mihaaru proceeded to ask the Police whether they are taking any action in relation to this issue.
A media official of the Police responded that they have observed this occurring and conducted related operations since last year.
"Such matters are being investigated, and necessary further action taken," the official said.
