Television Presenter Moosa Rilwan Named to Broadcasting Commission

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Moosa Rilwan, a seasoned television presenter, to the Maldives Broadcasting Commission, the independent regulatory body responsible for overseeing broadcasting standards nationwide. The appointment, made in accordance with the Broadcasting Act, follows parliamentary approval during a session held on 13 May.
Rilwan enters the commission with a background rooted in political science and media. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and international relations in 2016 and has worked in media and media management since 2009, bringing a depth of experience across various roles in the industry.
His professional contributions extend beyond broadcasting. As an integral figure in national development projects, he played a key role in the 'Fennaaru' programme, a large-scale water and sewerage infrastructure initiative launched in collaboration with international organisations and government ministries. His expertise has also supported the Maldives Urban Development and Resilience Project and the Strengthening Low-Carbon Energy Island Strategies (LCEI) initiative.
