The spokesperson at President’s Office، Ibrahim Muaz Ali had reportedly asked to show the photos of the rally to the former President and opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed، who is currently being held at Dhoonidhoo.
Muaz made his statement during the vehicle rally organized by the pro-government parties، Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA)، in the capital Male’ City on Friday evening.
“Show the photos of this rally to President Nasheed in Dhoonidhoo. Then he will know who the youth are supporting،” Muaz said.
Speaking at the rally، Muaz further urged the participants not to wear masks or smoke cigarettes during the rally.
He made the request while several raised the concern of masked men vandalizing in the recent protests by pro-government an opposition parties، in capital Male’.
Muaz further stated that the former President Nasheed is facing the charges and detained in Dhoonidhoo as he acted outside the law.
Reports say، over 1000 are partaking in the PPM-MDA vehicle rally، including cabinet ministers، parliament members، senior officials of two parties، women and youth.
