Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon has stated that the verdict imposed on Nasheed is issued accordingly with the Constitution of Maldives.
The statement was made in the Maldives High Commision in Colombo، Sri Lanka while reporting to the international Media.
Dunya stated that the 13 years of jail sentence imposed on Nasheed was issued accordingly with the Constitution of Maldives. She affirmed that none can oppose the Constitution.
“No one is above the law” stated the Minister.
She also highlighted that Nasheed will be provided the rights even though he will be in jail and affirmed that he will be treated with respect while he will be serving the sentence in jail.
In the news conference held، Tourism Minister Ahmed Adheeb and Attorny General Mohamed Anil also participated.
