Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) has announced that tidal wave attacks are to be expected in the islands because of the bad weather and heavy rain showers in Maldives currently.
MET Office’s weather forecast for the next 24 hours indicates that scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are expected over the country. Showers may be heavy in southern atolls.
Seas are expected to be rough in southern most atolls and moderate becoming rough during showers elsewhere.
Surface winds will vary between west / north-westerly 13 – 23 miles per hour in southern-most atolls and west / north-westerly 8 – 18 miles per hour elsewhere.
