The lawyers of former President Mohamed Nasheed’s task is to entertain Nasheed، says the Home Minister Umar Naseer.
The statement is made in a letter addressed to Nasheed’s office on 3rd May.
The letter was publicized by a lawyer in Nasheed’s legal team، former Youth Minister Hassan Latheef in his twitter account.
The letter states that he has noticed that the recent visits by lawyers to Nasheed were conducted to entertain him; not for the purpose of conducting legal works.
Umar has therefore requested the lawyers to make better use of the visits and he has asserted that the opportunities to visit Nasheed were provided to lawyers.
Former President Nasheed is serving his sentence in a jail apartment at Maafushi Prison.
Nasheed has been sentenced for 13 years in Prison on March for illegally abducting and detaining Abdulla Gaazee in 2012.
