MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed has said that the leader of the Jumhooree Party and also the founder of Villa Foundation, Gasim Ibrahim is being patient to the intimidations of the government for the sake of the Maldivian people.
Speaking at the press conference held today at the Jumhooree Maalan, Ali Waheed said that Gasim Ibrahim is not only the leader of the Jumhooree Party but also the philanthropist who is providing employment opportunities to thousands of Maldivians and also providing education opportunities to thousands of students.
“Therefore because of this Gasim is being patient because he wants to continue his services to the people without any interference. Not because he is intimidated by the threats made by government affiliated people. He will not step back. He will move forward regardless of these threats,” he said.
Ali Waheed said that Gasim Ibrahim is a leader who possesses knowledge, wisdom and perseverance which are rarely found in certificate holders.
He said that Gasim Ibrahim has a share in educating the people of Maldives. He said that this is a fact that cannot be denied.
In addition to this, Ali Waheed also demanded the Prosecutor General Muhtaz Muhsin to retract his ill speech regarding Gasim Ibrahim.
