Jumhooree Party Council member Ali Hameed has said that the opposition parties should find a way for the people to move forward.
Ali Hameed made this remark speaking at the Saturday night’s public rally organized by the Jumhooree Party.
Ali Hameed said that the trust of the people on the leaders of a government fades away whenever the government’s end draws near. He said that this is what is witnessed in the Maldives today.
Ali Hameed noted that the cabinet remains incomplete and ministers appointed are just there for lip service.
“Cabinet and independent institutions are hijacked. There is no real need for the cabinet in this state,” he said.
In addition to this, he said that the government can attract foreign investments when they guarantee the safety of investments. “Today there is no guarantee,” he said.
“There is no certainty for the local investors so what guarantee is there for the foreign investors?,” he said.
Ali Hameed said that the government should give top priority to grant all constitutional rights instead of withholding them or violating them.
