South-Galolhu constituency member Ahmed Mahloof claims he never received threats of any sort or any assault attempts، when he had actively criticized Maldives Democratic Party (MDP)، or their members and their leader Mohamed Nasheed.
Recently Mahloof was removed from PPM membership after the party’s disciplinary committee took the action against him، over his strong criticism against President Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Since then he had actively collaborated with opposition parties MDP and Jumhooree Party (JP).
He confirms that a group of assailants had attempted to break and enter into his resident apartment last night، and accuses Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb as the pioneer of this attempt.
“I was well aware of the imminent and imposing threats against me physically once I stand up against the current government and expose their wrongdoings” Mahloof stated.
Furthermore Mahloof claims that he had reported the assault attempt on him last night to Police services، but they had not extended any assistance on the case so far.
Meanwhile، Police media official confirms that they had received a distress call report of a possible breaking and entering event at H. East Light last night.
In addition to this، Mahloof had also criticized the security forces، MNDF for not attending to assist as per their constitutional duty to protect Majlis MPs.
South-Galolhu constituency member Mahloof states that he was never a victim of such attempts or such threats when he had actively criticized and talked against MDP members as well as former President Mohamed Nasheed، and he accuses the current government has pioneered the recent death threats and assault attempts on him.
