Former Defence Minister Col. (Rtd.) Mohamed nazim has returned to Maldives from Singapore. He was asked to return while he was undergoing medical treatment in Singapore by Maldives Correctional Service.
Since Asseyri Jalu, the Jail he was serving the sentence of 11 years imprisionment is under renovation he has been put inder House arrest for a period of 1 month.
Col, (rtd) Mohamed Nazim has appealed his case in the Supreme court and is awaiting for the hearings to be started.
Col. (rtd) Mohamed is Nazim was among the leaders who tried to bring the present government to Power. He was the Defence Minister and acting Health Minister when he was arrested for “possessing” a pistol at home in January 2015.
