Bank of Maldives appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Bank of Maldives (BML) on Sunday announced that Timothy Sawyer was appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.
According to the bank, Sawyer has over 30 years of international experience in financial services including 20 years at Executive and Board level. He joined BML from his position as the Chief Investment Officer at Innovate UK, the investment arm of the UK Government.
Prior to Innovate UK, Sawyer was the CEO of Start Up Loans, where he was awarded Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth. for his services to the UK industry in developing small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Sawyer previously lead several financial institutions including Cahoot and Kent Reliance, and was Chairman at Banque Dubois of Switzerland as well as Folk2Folk, a lending organisation based in UK.
