Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced a temporary traffic diversion at the Velana International Airport landside roads due to critical construction works on the National Passenger Terminal (NPT) roads and drainage system.
The diversion will be in effect from 11:00 PM on July 12 until midnight on July 21, 2025. During this period, two lanes of general two-way traffic will be rerouted to the newly constructed road in front of the Velana New Terminal.
Taxi pickup and queue areas will be relocated to the edge of the passenger walkway shade near the western parking area, while taxi drop-off points and MTCC pickup and drop-off locations will remain unchanged. MACL internal buses will serve passengers near the walkway shade.
Additionally, north-to-south U-turns will only be permitted at the Police Checkpost area during the diversion.
MACL apologizes for any inconvenience caused and requests travelers to plan accordingly.
