Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Extraordinary Congress is set to take place on March 15 at 9:15 pm.
Invitations to the congress have been sent to clubs and the agenda has also been finalized.
Key items on the agenda include the election of the Action Committee, Appeals Committee, and Ethics Committee. In addition, an audit firm will be appointed to review FAM’s financial transactions over the past two years.
FAM Acting General Secretary Shujau previously stated that a separate congress would be held later to implement major constitutional changes. FIFA has also proposed amendments to FAM’s constitution.
This congress marks the first to be held under FAM’s direct supervision since the organization was placed under a normalization committee. The session will be chaired by Ahmed Muizzu, the current chairman of the Normalization Committee and former Prosecutor General.
FIFA appointed Muizzu to lead the committee on February 14, following the removal of former Sports Minister Ahmed Zuhoor from the role.
FIFA also reduced the number of committee members from five to three. In response, legal and financial expert Ahmed Ali resigned from the committee.
