The Islamabad government has said that the terrorist attack on a mosque in Islamabad was an act against humanity.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the attack on a mosque in Islamabad's Tarlai area during Friday prayers was a degrading act against humanity, religion and moral standards.
The Government of Maldives has expressed its condolences over the loss of many innocent lives and injuries in the incident. On behalf of the Government and people of Maldives, we extend our condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan.
In addition, the Government of Maldives has sent its condolences to the families of those killed and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Foreign Ministry statement further said that all acts of terrorism are unacceptable to Maldives. The government has reiterated that such attacks on holy places of worship are unacceptable.
Maldives stands firmly with Pakistan at this difficult time and the Government of Maldives has assured Pakistan of its full cooperation and support in the fight against terrorism at the international level.

The Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack.
Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said the incident, which killed 31 people and injured 169 others, was believed to have been carried out by India and Afghanistan. The terrorist involved in the attack had traveled to Afghanistan, he said.
India, however, later condemned the suicide attack and denied involvement.
IS claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement that included the name and photo of the alleged attacker.
The blast occurred at the Khadijatul Kubra Mosque in Islamabad's Tarlai Kalan area.
