Foreign Minister discusses strengthening ties with India and Sri Lanka

Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam held discussions with the Foreign Ministers of India and Sri Lanka.
In separate phone calls, Minister Iruthisham spoke with Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar and Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, and reviewed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations with both countries.
During talks with Indian Foreign Minister Dr S. Jaishankar, emphasis was placed on the long-standing India–Maldives relationship. Minister Iruthisham highlighted that India is always ready to assist the Maldives during challenging times, noting that India’s recent INR 30 billion swap facility with the Maldives also reflects the strong bond between both countries.
In discussions with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, both sides underscored the importance of deepening long-standing friendly ties between the two countries.
