BML has made a profit of 480 million Rufiyaa in the second quarter.
The quarterly report shows that in April، May and June the bank has made a profit of 480 million Rufiyaa without tax cuts. In the first quarter the bank made 281 million Rufiyaa a profit. After deducting for tax، bank will make 360 million Rufiyaa as profit in this quarter.
That is a 152% increase when compared to last year. With the two quarters combined، during the first half of this year the bank has made 571 million Rufiyaa as profit. The bank has invested 300 million Rufiyaa in developing banking infrastructure around the Maldives. Also they have deduced 2% interest from housing loans and 6% from personal loans.
