Medhu Henveriu constituency MP Ali Azim has been arrested for disobeying police orders during the protest held last night.
However, Ali Azim said that the Police did not make any specific orders but asked him to come with them.
Some eye witnesses said that they "did not hear the Police make any specific orders for Azim to disobey or obey."
Maldives Police Service confirmed the reports of Ali Azim's arrest.
Police stated that 10 protesters were arrested for disobeying orders of the Police. They said that a child below 18 and a woman were released after advicing them.
