Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has said that he refuses to stay in Jumhooree Party (JP) “for even a second” if the party leader fails to acknowledge his work.
Speaking at a campaign event for a parliamentary candidate on Thursday night, Minister Waheed, who is also the president of JP, said that he will even leave the administration if the President and the government refuses to acknowledge their reform work.
Minister Waheed said that he will never forget the tyranny of the President Abdulla Yameen’s administration and will refuse to take any step forward with him or former First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim.
He said that the previous administration had been unable to commit voter fraud in the last presidential election due to the sheer number of people who voted against it.
He added that incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had served in parliament for 25 years and that he will always defend the current government.
