Maldives Police Service has towed over 400 abandoned vehicles from Male’ streets in a span of four days.
The authority commenced efforts to tow abandoned vehicles from Male’ streets on Saturday.
Via a post on X on Wednesday, Police said they have towed a total of 468 abandoned vehicles as of Tuesday: 432 two-wheelers, 33 four-wheelers and three bicycles.
Police had also commenced efforts to tow illegally parked vehicles on Male’ roads back in last September.
Transport Ministry has previously stated that parked vehicles take up 65 percent of Male’ roads which had led to an increase in road accidents.
Notably, Police, in collaboration with Housing Development Corporation (HDC), had recently towed abandoned vehicles on Hulhuamle’ roads.
